On Monday the 7th of June at the early morning hour of 7.30 we got on a double decker bus and set off for Yorkshire ! It was a long journey of 5 hours, the entertainment changed from D.S 's to eye-spy to a sing along, that made the journey a fun one. After 4 hours we got to Eden Camp. Eden camp was a prisoner of war camp for the Italians. We not only learnt about the prisoners we learnt about how the war affected prisoners but also daily life. About how the women looked after England, rationing and bombing. It was amazing how you could kill a whole town by a slither of light.
While we were there we saw an amazing site of 10 Mayflies it was amazing you only see them once or twice in the year. We were all amazed, we had are own nature notes at our door step.
We went around the gift shop (trying not to spend all our money at once ) we all bought gifts. We went back to the coach. Perfect timing, as soon we got outside it started to rain. We got on the coach ( a bit wet ) and drove to the hotel.
The hotel is a Victorian building with red chairs and flowery wall paper; we went to our bedrooms.
We unpacked and went to dinner of pork, vegetables and roast potatoes and apple tart and custard for pudding.
We went swimming (it was cold ! )then either went to the day room or have an epic game of ping pong ( I won ! ) or went into the day room and wove triangles. Then we went for hot drinks and milkshakes and went to bed.
