Today we went to Whitby, a coastal town. The journey took half an hour through the mist. First we headed off to the abbey and sketched a part of it. We then thought about some nouns and adjectives that we could use in our poems about the abbey. We stopped for a quick break before meeting up with the english heritage people who talked to us about the monks who prayed,lived and worked in Whitby Abbey. We got into groups and were given three objects at the monks used in their daily life. Two people from our group talked about what the objects told us about the monk's lives. Some people from our group talked about them but then we had to go from the abbey into the town to do our survey. After the survey we did a treasure hunt and then we went shopping. Our day was so fun in Whitby and I think my favourite day, although the weather was a bit cold!
